Had a parcel to send so stopped work at 4.30 to print out the label and return slip, and make the post office in time for the c 5.15 collection.Printer had other Ideas refusing to connect to the WiFi. Rejected the password which I was sure I had entered right but eventually connected via the press the button on the router method. Then the laptop got into the act claiming the printer was off line. Eventually got the laptop to talk to the printer by telling it to do a test print after which it printed what was needed. Post office reached 5.25
Decided my 2013 purchased Lidl cycling shoes have finally become unwearable. The cleat mount on the right shoe started to work loose and they were relegated to use with the indoor folding bike like thingy. Eventually the cleat mount fell out and yesterday the rubber either side of the ckrar mount started to lose its strength such that it was unpleasant on the underside of the foot.

Good evening from Leeds - looks like I've snuck in under the radar again 😁

Lunch was had in town, booked into the hotel, had a hot shower and I've just woken from a refreshing 30 minute snooze. Should be setting off on foot to the Brudenell in 30 or 40 minutes to see the band that are currently doing a short set on 6Music.

A 5.5 hour ride to Kings Lynn today. Then train home. I do like one way rides, with train out or back. Boy did I get some hail dumped on me. Finished under blue skies.

You ought to be careful one day you will end up being caught and made to stay

You may have snuck in, but not unnoticed. Every second train was running late into and out of Leeds this evening. "Passenger falling ill on the train", possible for one maybe two services, but seven in a row!

We'll see how fast his legs can carry him.

A miserable day weatherwise here chez Casa Reynard. Cold, blustery and at times very, very soggy.

Slept well though. Did the chores that didn't involve going outside too much. Madam Lexi *insisted* on going out to check if the garden was still there (it is) and then shouting at me because I couldn't do anything about the weather. Her perambulation consisted of going from the front door to the garage door, and then back to the front door via the underside of the car.

Lovely luncheon of salami cacciatore on granary toast, fruit and a :cuppa:

Then off into town in pursuit of a suitable quantity of white roses. Picked up two £3 bouquets in Tesco, and used my clubcard points to pay for them. They also had Lane Late oranges on offer (I really dig this variety - along with Navelina, they're one of the best varieties out there) so I snagged three nets, and picked up two large boxes of Jacob's "biscuits for cheese" in the green bins.

Supper consisted of the last of the parsnip soup, then a jacket potato with beans, cheese and sweetcorn, and a grilled Silesian sausage and fried onions on the side.

Hardly reliable sources.

And what would be your definition of a reliable source?

With a background in research, I'm used to fact-checking across multiple sources. And in any case, if said multiple sources (and not just the three I mentioned) are all running essentially the same story, then any bias (political / editorial) aside, the basic facts upon which the articles were constructed should hold true.

Oh yeah, and a friend who lives in San Francisco also mentioned the increased price of eggs on her FB feed.

Another Monday completed successfully. I made several attempts to call the line provider today to report my parents' landline fault but was told things like "you are number 147 in the queue..." So I declined to wait as I was at work. Then mysteriously, the line and the broadband came back into service this evening. I do wonder if they had a power problem at the exchange as it didn't lose dial tone until the following evening after the storm.

I also spoke to Mr Cowboy's secretary about my missing roof tile and she said it's nothing to do with them. Considering he is the manager of the maintenance company, I would have thought it was something to do with him. It's probably cheaper to get someone else to do it than get a solicitor involved and torture myself with having to deal with him and his temper. How are people like him allowed to operate.
