Whilst I was at the cat sanctuary this morning, someone arrived to drop off a cat for rehoming. her 'other half' sat in their car for about twenty five minutes or so - with the engine running.
It was a a diesel engine, so as I've alluded to in a previous post, is there something about diesel engines that requires the driver to leave the engine running that I'm unaware of - ?
Never noticed this with petrol engine vehicles.

Never mind the car. What about the cat? ;)

Console yourself with the thought that I just spent £300 on logs which, if it were our only source of heat, would last us maybe a month.

Last time I looked, logs around here were £150 per cubic meter.

Because a few years back, I was doing some lumberjilling in the garden when a new neighbour (well, when I say neighbour, he's about a quarter of a mile down the road) had heard the chainsaw and let himself in through the hedge. He offered to help me with the tree work in return for half the logs. I told him that I didn't need any help, and that no, he couldn't have any logs because I don't have oil central heating (no safe place to put an oil tank), but that he could help himself to any deadfall.

Seen neither hide nor hair of him since...

Day in the office after a gap of 5 weeks.
Was very murky on the way in but it didn't need the rear fog light that the car in front had on.
Normal grumbles and lack of positivity IT wise.
Had three what should be single page pdfs all go into a second page so had to edit them in word. First two fine but the third kept on putting what should be at the end at the top. Managed to move the text but the now empty box would not delete so left it.

We got moved out of the training room today and into one of the office suites. We also have a temporary supervisor until the end of February. I suppose that's progress. It's also changed from compulsory five days in the office to three days in and two at home. I just find the office too noisy for my tastes.

It was a nice day and I should have gone out on the bike but I was tidying up and can't be bothered now.

I see that there's another red weather warning for Friday AM.
