Blimey.. Just spent £86.21 @ Farm Foods saving money! 😕

Oooooer!

I haven't been to the shops since last Thursday, where I spent a tenner on two bags of cranberries, some stilton and some smoked mackerel. I *do* have to go out tomorrow, as I am in need of milk, sugar and bread. The first proper shop of the year has been deferred till the following week, as other than the above items, nothing else on the list is terribly pressing. Mind you, I did spend a fair bit in the run up to the hols, but there's now a lot of things (meat, fish, cheese) that I won't be needing for a while.

Will be curious to see how far this month's grocery and sundries kitty of £200 will last...

Edited to say that I am not counting the tank of petrol I will need in order to drive down to Hampshire at the end of the month in the above. That comes out of my own pocket and not the kitty.

Solid ones. Unfortunately the chair has gone back. The Rep got it wrong and I couldn't keep the chair for longer. So I'm on the crutches. Moving better this morning. It was invaluable for my first 24 hours though. Can bear weight more.

Looks like I've torn my adductor muscle where it anchors to the pelvic bones. Would explain why the pain is to the rear of my groin area.

Ouch! How'd you manage to do that?

The chilly frosty starts are with us again and yet again folk are defrosting their cars usually by just leaving the engines running; the preferred option it seems now, regardless of pollution, or scraping away with whatever comes handy.
As de icer spray is widely available, why doesn't anyone take this easier option - ?
Legend has it that de icer rots windscreen rubbers, but as a Wilco employee says, if it does, why is de icer still sold - ?
I've been using de icer for many years and never noticed any detrimental effect on the windscreen rubbers on any of my cars.

It's scrape, scrape, scrape here LOL... Sides, back, mirrors. The only problem I have is the windscreen, being such a shortarse. Need to try and find a scraper with a handle.

Fortunately Colin comes with heated mirrors and rear window, and a "quick defrost / demist" setting for the front.

I guess my recently acquired Raleigh Detour 4 may be okay after all, the damage to the seat tube does not seem serious, after consulting a metallurgist after mass this morning. We had another inch of snow, but I shoveled it off my drives and walks and all has dried off before the bitter cold sets in early this week.

I've been caught up with deceased effects over the last few days so it didn't seem the qualify as mundane news.

But I'm pleased to report that a minor crow war (a cawfuffle) broke out this morning. The intruding crow was a two-tone version. There used to be a sort of cuckoo crow around here but he's been gone for almost a year. Anyhow, this crow had a two note call, almost 4 tones apart. It seems to have got driven away but I'm hopeful I'll hear it again.

Oh, it might be a jackdaw, because I'm hopeless at telling them apart.

Jackdaws have grey "hoods" and bright blue eyes.
