Itching to get back on my bike's

Late afternoon cuppa went down well
A14 has been travelled.

That's half a mile done in the wheel chair down to a swimming area on the prom. Strava'ed it. Who knew there is a wheel chair option. Shattered now though and my thumb is wearing out.

It can be hard but rewarding to push a wheelchair when they are occupied

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Got my turbo all set up and went to get changed when mini ck 1 decides to have a long conversation about how i dont support them etc etc .
By the time i had very politely listened and commented the window to turbo had gone and it was time to make the family tea.

It's been a brrrrrrrrright but ridiculously chhhhhilllly day here chez Casa Reynard.

Did not sleep well. Just kept waking up randomly. It was -6C on my phone weather app when I went to bed, and it's not got above freezing all day. We must've had freezing fog overnight at some point, as everything is still covered in hoar frost. My car looks like a Skoda-shaped icy hedgehog.

I had to do firewood and empty the grate, and get some bits from the utility room, but it has definitely been an indoor day. I have just finished making my tangerine marmalade and am sat down with a :cuppa: and a flapjack.

Luncheon was a chunk of cranberry-topped pork pie, toast, smoked salmon mouse, plus fruit and a :cuppa: while this evening's food will be a "see what's in the fridge that wants using" kind of thing.

Formula E to watch in a bit, and I also plan on doing some writing.

Forced myself out today for the sake of the kiddos really. I HATE the cold but asked who wants to go to the local country park, feed the ducks, have a go on the park if its clear....YEAHHHHH from the kiddos.

So £3 odd parking as good as £8 for a snack in the cafe later, ducks fed, kids had a run around, discovered the fun of 1.5 inch thick ice, etc etc. It was actually really really nice...only maybe 3c but quite still and very invigorating.

One of those days when rail travel is a treat - an almost empty (and therefore quiet) carriage, bright sunsine and wintry countryside to watch from the warmth inside. Until you get to the rail replacement bus and thick fog for the Bury St. Edmunds - Ipswich part that is. Less than half an hour by train, just under the hour by bus and I only just made the local train by less than a minute.

And I'm doing it all again at the end of the month as I got notification of band I've wanted to see for a bit doing something for Independant Venue Week at short notice. I've managed to get a cheap hotel and some of the rail cost will be offset by using my LNER Perks balance and the part delay repay from Friday's cancellation on the way out.
