Dark and damp outside by the look of it

Morning.
It looks dark and wet out.
Just listening to the TV. How the hell did a 17 year old who had recently, well in the last year passed his test be able to insure a BMW car? Our grandson similar age and recently passed his test and found his insurance to be astronomic for a normal car!

Just to put it in perspective. When I was 17 I was working as an apprentice in a garage. The day after I passed my test I had to drive a car from Chippenham to Bristol and bring back another car. I was worried about the responsibility of driving those cars. The first car was a Ford Cortina estate which bounced all over the road , or felt like it. The car I brought back was a Customer's Capri 3 litre. It handled a lot better but it wasn't my car so I drove it carefully. The car got back safely. I was afraid of damaging the car and losing my job.

The day after I passed my test I borrowed (legally) mums Mini clubman and drove to Weston Super mare and back to Kidderminster for a day out.

Seems my satellite dish is snowed up so one less TV option until it thaws.

Wet & windy!

It looks like many of us have dark, wet and windy weather today. Debating whether to wrap up warm and waterproof or take the car because I have a day of errands to do.

Good morning from an overcast and soggy underfoot Suffolk where we have additional rain showers being blown through on a very stiff breeze.
Coffee has been had and I think today will be a domestics day once I've retrieved the recycling bin and had a late breakfast.

Snowed in for the second day, following further snowfall last night and early this morning.
Cars being reported as have being abandoned where they got stuck. Which from previous experience will be just where they can stop every other vehicle from going further.

Fair bit of snow over night, but on top of very wet soil. My garden has a huge puddle, so the pump is out & trying to pump water from the general neighbourhood down the drain.

From what I saw at the end of the road, no gritting has taken place on the main road. Admittedly, we've had a lot of rain, but no attempt seems to have been made.
