Working out the logistics of the next few days, it looks like I'll be riding an E-Bakfiets from work to do the shopping on Saturday.
Plan is:

• Train from family flat to Tübingen
• Leave Brompton in secure parking at work, opposite railway station.
• Take Bakfiets from secure parking; ride 10km to Rottenburg and Lidl.
• Monthly stocking up in Lidl, plus other items in town.
• Ca. 10km from Lidl to home; deliver shopping, put washing in.
• Ride 20km back to Tübingen.
• Bakfiets to secure parking, Brompton to station (if I time it properly) and 20km home if I don't, or if I decide to count all this as the first 50k "lunacy challenge" ride.

Will have to call tomorrow and book the bike.

If it works, photographs will be taken; probably to the point of making this entire process take much longer.

Just had New Year's Day dinner a roast, at 4pm. We NEVER 'lunch' that late but as we all got up at 10am...its thrown everything off kilter.
Leftover chicken saved for a sweet and sour meal.tomorrow.

Against all expectations, it cleared to a pretty decent afternoon and I did about 25 miles on the single speed, just arriving back now. A lot of water on the roads and river levels were clearly raised. Nice, bright and sunny but very

I've just put my steak and kidney pie in the oven and I have a tin of Guinness to go with it. The Blue Danube is playing on the radio. All very relaxing here this evening

I've just realised my pie has an expiry date of 31/12/24. I you don't hear from me again, you will know I should not have ignored the expiry date!
