Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Walked into Dewsbury to find a cardigan* as I can't put a jumper on due to my hand injury and I'm in short-sleeved shirts. Any sleeves need to be wide due to a large bandage. It's a tad chilly up in Yorkshire today.

* SWMBO did once buy me a cardigan but, as I don't wear them, I gave it away in the summer.

New walking boots had first outdoor outing. Comfy and grippy on steep muddy hills. Toughness will have to wait till more rocky terrain.

I always went for the Fabric/Nubuck boots cos they dry out faster in a tent, I went camping with a girlfriend who had really good (Berghaus I think) Leather boots and she moaned about having damp feet after we spent a day in the lake district in pouring rain and my boots were fine the next day but hers were still soggy after 3 days. Once Leather gets wet it is a devil to dry out no matter how much newspaper you stuff in them unless you are in a warm dry house

I remember a mate getting a pair of Karrimor KSB around 1980 when they first came out. I had my army and navy leather boots with a suitable covering of dubbin. My leather boots fared much better on Kinder Scout. His fabric boots were somewhat lighter.

Fast forward 44 years and my latest boots are fabric and a pair weigh same as one of my original leather boots. Super light on the feet. Plus of course running shoe cushioning is now seen in boots, giving all day comfort on punishing ascents / descents.

If I was still primarily bog trotting I think I’d still seriously consider a leather boot for the purpose.

They're great as long as you can get them dry before wearing them again.

Into the city for my Saturday 'duties'. At my independent trader coffee stop, asked for one thing, and was told that I was having what the vendor decided - !
As I've been going there for some years and they know my tastes full well, left it to him and was well pleased with what I had - ! :okay:
Then went to Mountain Warehouse and bough two micro fleeces for £25. Whilst I was folding my choices up, a lass approached me and began asking about ski wear for her daughter. As I'd stripped down to my t-shirt to try stuff on and was folding stock up, she'd assumed that I was a member of staff - !
An eventful morning - ! ^_^
