Georgie was in a playful mood when I gave him his breakfast this morning. He was hiding behind the island in the kitchen waiting to pounce on me as I went past. We played a few games of chase the mouse and Christmas pudding, both woolen.

Did people have stronger legs in the past?
I was just thinking of my old bikes compared to modern ones. 5 speed with a large chainring. I'm amazed that an 80 year old was still riding a bike I bought last year. It's suited to the mountainous regions of Holland and not the gentle slopes of round here, which I have to get off and walk! It does give me some satisfaction though when a lycra clad rider on an aerodynamic carbon framed bikes passes me though. "Oh ah!" " You try doing that on one of these?" As they whiz past.

Having a coffee in supermarket cafe till another shop which is opening late over Xmas decides to unlock the door.
