I have been invited to a party at one of my neighbours. They are "new" neighbours who moved in last September. It is next week and described as Mingle and Tingle with mulled wine and mince pies.

Would you take with you some small contribution to the party? I was thinking along the lines of about two boxes of Lindor wrapped chocolates. If it was a small gathering of perhaps six people, I would definitely take something for the host. What do you think?

A bunch of flowers (or a nice plant) and a box of chocs sounds spot on. In European culture, it's considered basic good manners to take something for the host.

Well my evening cuppa of hot chocolate went down well whilst watching recorded GP highlights.

Been another weekend of ups and a lot more downs but hey we have survived.

And a good result on strictly that I think @Speicher will agree with?

Oh yes! I do not expect Chris to win, but I am so pleased that he made it to the final.

I gave up waiting for a dry spot in the weather and simply went out for a walk in the less wet part of the afternoon instead. A total of 5 1/2 miles in the gathering gloom while listening to the end of the Grand Prix and then the football. The best part was towards the end when I spend a while watching a barn owl gliding and hunting over the field next to the bridleway.

The recycling bin has been moved to the front of the house ready for emptying on Monday and it's now time for this evening's hot chocolate.

A morning spent moving my bikes and some other stuff to a new location due to seeing blue skies where I should see sheets of corrugated iron. Thank you Darragh

My mum is to speak to the insurance company tomorrow to see if decrepit outbuildings are covered for storm damage. I can't afford to replace the roof myself at the moment. My brother seems to be involving himself which means I will probably never be allowed near the shed ever again as he doesn't even want me there at all as he wants everything for himself.
