Good morning from an overcast, cold and very windy Suffolk. Very wet underfoot from overnight rain and occasional showers keep the wetness topped up.

Coffee has been had once I'd finally left the warmth of the duvet after a decent lie in listening to the radio. A new pack of Oaties provided the biscuit accompaniment. What I do for the rest of the day depends on the rain - if the radar shows a decent clear period I'll probably go out for a walk or (if the wind drops) a short bike ride as the day's exercise.

cheerful morning in MA

200 miles South, sealed up a 3 windows at my Mother's house w/ 2 layers, 1 of bubble wrap & another of plastic sheeting
2 layer window jpg.jpg

their 1966 house never got updated windows & we never even had storm windows. the downstairs is no longer heated so it was a balancing act in my parents later years. now that they are out of the house I'm thinking it needs a lot of work, like maybe getting the downstairs heat fixed? but the furnace in the basement, has kept all the pipes from freezing, which is so surprising

I have been invited to a party at one of my neighbours. They are "new" neighbours who moved in last September. It is next week and described as Mingle and Tingle with mulled wine and mince pies.

Would you take with you some small contribution to the party? I was thinking along the lines of about two boxes of Lindor wrapped chocolates. If it was a small gathering of perhaps six people, I would definitely take something for the host. What do you think?

Tingle ? is that the noise the car keys make when dropped into the bowl at such evening functions

The tree is up,and no fighting or blows.Decorations are out and up.But NOT in their places.Mrs P has moved them about this year.i am going for counselling tomorrow morning, she can't do this, decorations go in the same places year in year out. This is the trouble when a Yorkshireman marries someone from the darkside. They have strangeways, cheese and jam sarnies, but never heard of cheese and xmas cake,it's been a battle i tell you a battle.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Callanish where we had to privilege of visiting before it was touristified and fenced off. This would have been 1960 or 61.

It was the same with the Major Oak in Sherwood Forest. You used to be able to climb into it and now there's a large fence around the tree.

Or Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge; I remember it being 50p into the honesty box not the £14 it is currently.
