Going downstairs at 6.30 to turn the washing machine on transpired to be a waste of time as by 2.30 nothing had dried.
Pretty windless ebike ride to Sainsbury's at lunchtime for what shopping needed doing before the storm arrives.
DPD delivered a parcel this afternoon which according to the tracking had been collected by York, gone to Birmingham to be sorted and then back to York to be delivered

I got completely soaked walking home from work, not helped by the Prius driver who drove through a puddle at high speed.

Red weather warnings for later. It's not great at present either.

Over here that is classed as assault and the driver can be charged over it.
On the way home one part of the main road that meets a side road is known to flood. If you don't time it right cars often get you.
The other week a nurse walking the other way to me was not as lucky as me and got it full on.

It's been a mild, still and largely overcast day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept so-so. Spent the morning cooking and doing chores. Skipped luncheon to go and put some time in the garden, clearing up more of the leavings from Storm Bert. I can't do firewood at the moment on account of the chainsaw being out of action (OK, I do have an electric one, but there's no powerpoints in the middle of a wood!), so I figured I could just as well drag in all those snapped bullace branches instead. It's a job that's been on the "to do" list, and I almost managed to complete the task before the light faded.

All the branches are now stacked up under a large ornamental bay, which means the wood is sheltered and it can dry. There's a lot of kindling to be clipped away, so kind of a bonus. The only thing I couldn't do was move one branch as it was simply too big and heavy; I did manage to detach it from its tree with the small bow saw, but I need the chainsaw to cut it into manageable lengths. It's green wood, so it will have to be seasoned prior to use.

Now sat down with a :cuppa: and some toast.

Cold day but not yet raining.
I hope my neighbour‘s massive Christmas tree thing stands up to the forecast winds as if it come down it would be in my direction.
A letter appeared mid afternoon with a hospital outpatients appointment on 16th December. Not possible to attend at the time specified as it would mean getting up at 0500 and arriving in Oban at 0830 for an 1140 appointment. No idea why the respiratory people want to see me anyway as my lungs are the least of my worries.
No answer from appointments people so nothing can be done before Monday even if I could get a ferry booking.

Still problems having to log in every time and the suggested email address is current but not recognised. An old not much used one does work but has to be a complete log in procedure and I can see no way to change it.

Quite disturbed by LBC's report of very large 'murder hornets'.

I am dressing ready to go for a "sortie a velo"
Sunshine, watery but present. Seemingly no wind.
First time out for a fortnight. Family and other diversions have interfered with my routine

Well I had a pleasant solo 30 k. A new route that's very nice. Not too demanding and quiet.

Returned to the fray much refreshed only to have to deal with a tenant, a neighbour and a plumber.
But sanity prevailed and everyone sort of left happy
Just me a bit poorer.
