Postie brought a digital voice land line phone adapter. BT are changing the phone system.
Oddly he seemed to be doing his route in reverse, maybe has the post van I saw yesterday going forward with its reversing lights on.
The adapter is for a land line phone which cannot be connected into the new router that a BT engineer will provide. Have a couple of land line handsets but in case both have dead batteries there is a normal land line phone which is nowhere near the router and also nowhere near a mains socket to plug the adapter into. Now where to put the phone...

Cold, wet, windy miserable day. My only trip outdoors was to my bin as a lot of rubbish had accumulated in the kitchen.
Found a cd of M. Hulot’s Holiday starring Jacques Tati and somewhere I have a cd reader but not sure if it will work with Apple devices.
This was the first film my wife and myself went to in the Glasgow Cosmo after our first born and one of his grandmothers was left in charge.

It's been a bright, sunny and blustery day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept OK-ish, though did wake up a few times during the night. Spent the morning pootling about in the kitchen doing bits and bobs. Then this afternoon I swept the path and drive as dear Bertie dumped about two inches of leaves and conifer bits over them. All that has been dumped into the green bin. Then went out into the garden to see what other things Storm Bert has done.

I've the inevitable snapped bullaces - irritatingly, not the dead ones I marked with spray paint previous week, there are a lot of big branches down in the wood, plus a couple of ash trees. So there's plenty going on to keep me out of trouble. I did pull a pile of downed branches near to where I've been working, and I shall cut them up tomorrow and bring them in for logs.

Have also been doing doing some writing and keeping an eye on the snooker.

A couple of weeks ago, a nurse during a phone consultation asked me how many units of alcohol I consumed in a week. I had no idea so I set up a spreadsheet to log it. But I've only just discovered that a litre of pure ethanol weighs only 798g and not 1000g. I'm going to have to add a formula to my sheet. But not right now because it's too complicated to work out a simple way of doing it. Besides, it's wine o'clock.
