Morning.
What shall we talk about today?

Well let's start with I have peaked out through the open blinds in the kitchen and the sky is a nice light colour and I can see across to the Bozeat straight and beyond.

Some of the trees are swaying in the wind but it's not raining.

First cuppa is brewing.

And I have noticed a pack of white chocolate digestive biscuits that have an RRP of £1.99 and I can only count 17 individual biscuits within the wrapper , hope whoever bought them didn't pay full RRP .

Is that last bit a maths question? How much does each biscuit cost?

It's raining hard again. The wind is still blowing strong, I'm watching wires swaying up and down.

Good morning from a grey and windy Suffolk where it's still damp underfoot after last night's rain.

Coffee has been had and I've done nothing so far except have a lie in while listening to the radio. I think that most of today will be an indoors day - probably in the shed doing a bit of bike chain cleaning & lubricating while listening to a replay of the Las Vegas grand prix (even though I know the result).

I'm just trying to think what we did in music lessons at school. It must have just been theory as I can't remember playing anything. Not much of it stayed in my brain something about those little tadpoles on lines but nothing much else. They must have been thrilling lessons!

I think all I played was the fool although I do remember having a go on the recorder .

The rain has returned but mostly blown in on the wind .

First cuppa went down well as did breakfast which again included a few pitted prunes

Rain has stopped and the wind has eased but that is only temporary as the afternoon Fishnish/Lochaline ferry has already been cancelled and the Craignure/Oban one is on yellow alert. The foreign object stuck in the propeller of MV Loch Frisa has been removed.
Calmac quite rightly give as much notice as possible of cancellations on the Lochaline route as it is the back end of nowhere and it is a long way back to civilisation of there is no ferry.
Strange that a lot of prospective travellers have no idea how a ferry service runs and are full of stupid questions on FB about why a sailing should be cancelled. Presumably these are recent settlers who only have seen one summer.
It used to be quite common for people to come here in summer but have no concept of winter conditions and could not wait to get back to wherever they left after the first winter.
Mainland roads seem to have cleared overnight.
I remember once travelling to Lochaline after a snowfall and had to wear sunglasses for driving due to the glare.
