I've been wondering how long the bulb in my 40 year old slide viewer would last.
Now I know.

I've just topped up my jar of brandied fruits, as I noticed there was only a tablespoon or so left in the bottom. Have added sultanas, mixed peel, dried cranberries and Tesco's "Island Mix" which consists of sultanas, raisins, pineapple and papaya, and then poured a bit of brandy over.

Don't use this in vast amounts, but I do like popping a bit into an apple crumble every now and again.

Ours have too, I must have left it late as they were all back in from the the outside cat run and hanging about.

I normally buy it whenever I see it on YS, but if I'm honest, if you want to scratch the itch, it's worth the full £4.95. The fish is sweet, moist and delicate, and the batter is crispy without being too much. There's two pieces in the box, which did mum and I very nicely.
I'll have to try again because I could only find cod in the Tesco I went to. But it didn't matter because as I was leaving for the shops I came across a very healthy and clean cauliflower in the lobby. People distribute end-of-day goods and unsold perishable goods to the block. Such a fresh-looking caulie had me buying a pint of milk instead so that I could make a cauliflower cheese. I had completely forgotten quite how much washing up that creates!

All repair work successfully completed. Hopefully no more petrol spilling over my shoe when I fill up next time and my Brompton has three gears again.

In many thousands of miles on a variety of three speed bikes, it's the first time I ever broke a gear cable.
