Good morning from Suffolk where the grey & gloomy weather has returned. At least it's dry which means I should be able to have a go at finishing off cutting the grass which I started on Tuesday before the rain happened.

Coffee has just been finished and a fresh pack of Custard Creams provided the biscuit accompaniment.

Ours is the 'Allergy' model.. We did have the red & black ordinary one but upgraded when it got a bit decrepit after many years of service..

I have the red and black one which is hardly ever used. It was bought as my wife had difficulty with an upright but we found she could not manage the Henry either eventually. Nowadays I just use an oldish Electrolux upright which works ok.

Started off a bit foggy looking but the wind has now increased and back to clearish but damp with a cold wind.

In the old days [ 1970's ] I remember being down at Craignure ferry terminal on a very foggy day. The MV Columba was out there somewhere but kept sounding her horn as they could not see the pier. At the end of the pier there was a man with a tin tray and hammer who battered the tray every time the horn went and thus guided the ship into the berth. There must have been some sort of radar but not good enough to get them the whole way in. Nowadays they would not sail at all.

The main road from Connel north is completely closed at Benderloch from today as is the cycle path due to a dangerous rock face which is starting to fall down on to the roadway. Work is starting today and will take at least a couple of days to make safe. The diversion suggested is a long way and not practical for cyclists but sensibly no mention is made of a shorter but tough diversion bikes could take. Sensible because it is single track and would get gridlocked and in any case is forbidden for lorries.
I have cycled the 20 miles round and can confirm you have to be really fit to do it.

Back home and dealing with the mountain of post and parcels. Then guess we should unpack and sort of the other bags of stuff. Think it’s time for a :cuppa: and maybe a biscuit. At least we don’t have washing to do as it’s all been done.

Had a really bad flare of osteo arthritis today resulting in waking up really tired and achy in hips, ankles, shoulders, knuckles and fingers. 4 ibrufen and a Naproxen taken today to even just get it to numb down a bit. 2 hour sleep after lunch, napped this evening....
Motorcycle rider accident round the corner, I dont know any details but air ambulance seen landing and taking off, hope he/she is OK.

And today...far far better, a bit sore still in the hips but soooo much better.

Remind me never to install block paving. Bob the builder installed it a few years back, and it's been nothing other than weed infested. Over the years, he's gone round and spent days scraping the weeds out, that failed, so completely re-layed it - again that failed. He's now got his poor adult son (who works with him) lifting the lot again. Whether they will give up with it this time, or put it back down, I don't know. It's been a mess for a couple of years. That said, he doesn't do any preventative maintenance on it.

Awh bless xxx Chin tickles to Madam Cassie.

You really want to be careful, she has been known to waylay passers by in order to gain such & of course knows all those who carry treats.

You have my sympathy on the snotty front. I'm currently fending off coughs with drinks & hence frequent trips. The morning walk is a 3xHalls event & in the evening I mostly use half a Fisherman's, although they tend to give me nose bleeds. Thoroughly fed up with the tiredness!.

I now have a dog gazing at me, then walking to the garden door so need to go.
