Funny you Should say that I’ve just had Hetty out for the end of holiday clean up. Now time for some ice arm and think I’ve an eclair that needs eating too.

Ours is the 'Allergy' model.. We did have the red & black ordinary one but upgraded when it got a bit decrepit after many years of service..

It's been a grey and cool day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, but still struggling with snottage and knee. Of the latter, it's just stiff now rather than painful.

The impending change in the weather kind of forced me into the first major lumberjilling foray of the season. I don't mind doing stuff when it's cold, but cold and wet isn't much fun. Or much use. I didn't go far, I managed to fill a trailer with snapped bits of bullace. Most of the wood is no great shakes, but it's still to good to let it rot. On the upsides, it does burn really hot, so will combine well with the ash and mulberry that I've got in my log store. Same again tomorrow, methinks, but will go searching for better quality wood.

Lovely supper of beetroot soup followed by maccaroni alla amatriciana.

Been watching the football. It's half time at the moment.

I would like to question your definition of "sits". Do you mean takes up half the bed at the diagonal?

Which in turn means that your legs end up at peculiar and not necessarily comfortable angles?

Sits as in maintains a constant temperature.

However, when it does go on the diagonal, I find myself sleeping with my delicate little booty dangling over the side of the bed.

Do you still look at 40-50 year old slides, and have you formed any opinions about which brands survive best? I'm tempted to think that Agfa aren't faring as well compared to Fuji & Kodachrome.

Most of my stuff is several decades younger than that, and largely digital. I made the switch fairly early on. I always preferred Fuji film myself, though I shot colour negative as opposed to slides.

A lot of stuff from the 70s has degraded - whether film or prints. When I acquire prints or scans for my archive (dealing with the 1980s largely), it invariably means spending a lot of time in photoshop dealing with such.

I always found Fuji good for outdoor shots and Agfa better for portraits (nicer skin tone) Did more in B&W though, Ilford HP5 pushed a couple of stops to 1,600 ASA for depth of field gave nice 'slightly grainy' images with plenty of impact.

The vast majority of my stuff was outdoor (motor racing), and yes, Fuji made the colours snap while not being too grainy. Their 400 ISO film really hit the sweet spot.

do you actually have a Hoover? I still remember my childhood unit. I think it was Hoover canister, w/ only 2 wheels & the bag went in one end

something like this Hoover AeroDyne tank cleaner

I have what's probably a Soviet copy of that, it's older than I am and still working fine even if it's a bit rusty looking.

Not something many people could do.
I was taught by a butcher friend but also had some friends who accidentally shot ones which landed already gralloched on our kitchen floor. Fortunately my wife was not fazed by a bit of blood and guts. Filled the freezer nicely.
At Christmas we got a turkey with wings still flapping from a farmer friend followed by panic stricken phone calls from mutual friends who had no idea what to do with their one.

My aunt can "wring" a chicken's neck with her bare hands.

I'm happy to eat eat meat but not sure I could really kill it like that.
