Grumblin at Garmin on the Granny Gear
Someone who can actually string a coherent sentence together and present a reasoned argument is infinitely preferable to a person whose rhetoric sounds like that of a drunk peeled off the pavement outside a nightclub on a Saturday night...

Dunno about you, but personally, I'd much rather listen to a good speaker that I don't agree with, than a poor speaker with whom I do.

That's what you've got.

That's what you've got.

We're never going to agree, are we?

How much is the call out fee for a drain unblocking company?

How much should I charge my neighbour for showing her that the drain is not blocked and the strange smell in her bathroom must be from something else?

Is it one, or two packets of Patterson's Highlander biskits?

Friday evening, £150.
And you can sign up for their annual any hours service.
That £500 for year 1 and £250 for year 2.
All payable in advance.
But it does mean that you only pay £50 for the first call out
So you save £100!

Oh, the £500 +£250 +£50, that's an investment.

Second cuppa going down well.
Just been to an appointment at a care home for a viewing and even though we asked if they had room available when we got there no vacancies till the new year

Following on from my above post earlier.
Early this afternoon I had a mental health team worker call me re an elderly relative that is currently in hospital with severe anxiety issues and the mental health person reduced me to tears after an hour of pure bullsh!T

It gave me mental health issues all afternoon.

Finally my working day is completed

A grey, still and slightly chilly day here chez Casa Reynard. Definitely feeling the lack of sunshine.

Had another rough night, so feeling distinctly meh. Adulting is so stressful. I really wish I could use Ambassador Mollari's line from "Rumours, Bargains and Lies." Also wondering if anyone might have a spare right knee knocking around.

Luncheon of a chorizo sandwich and a :cuppa:

Now upstairs and doing some writing while the parental watches Tipping Point. She doesn't appreciated it when I keep yelling answers at the TV, so I have been, well, banished.

I assume you have tried thing like Voltarol or Phorpain for your knee. I have a dodgy knee and one of those keeps it under control.

Yes, I guessed the call out fee would be at least £100, probably more. While the person who helps me in the garden was here I asked him to lift the drain cover.

I told him that I did not expect him to clear any blockage, as I would do that. He was here to do lots of pruning, not sorting drains.

The drain cover is on my side of their house, and also takes the waste water from my kitchen, so it sort of joint responsiblity.

Does the drain go into a sump outside the house?
All water from my house apart from sewage goes into a sump which fills up sometimes with debris from the kitchen sink. Easy enough to clear it out but a pair of arm length waterproof gloves are needed.
Can take a year or two to get blocked but at least I know where to look first.
