Aargh don't mention plugs and sockets. Think I'm almost there with the lounge tv set up. Discovered I had an ethernet splitter wired up which I did not need and consequently all the plugs would go in one vertical multiway mains socket stand rather than two. Just need a very short extension lead as the better multiway has an equally short lead and I decided it would be better to the right of the stand rather than to left.

I'm track racing at Derby. Some of those from last weekend's London 3-day are here. That's the good bit. The bad bit is national champions have been dropped into my group and it feels so much faster.

Lovely supper of beetroot soup (barszcz), followed by avocado and fried egg on toast, and baked beans jazzed up with an onion, a sweet pepper and some mexican spices and chillies.

The chap doing the survey for the solar panels & battery installation this morning turned out to be the same one who did last year's version which I turned down on cost grounds. With the cost now being £2500 lower than last year and in the area of what I was prepared to pay I've gone ahead and electronically signed the contract so we're both happy.

Two days coming up of doing nothing except sitting on trains, eating & drinking too much and listening to loud music.

I made a big pot of vegetable soup after work so it will last me a few days.

I've just been for a twenty mile ride, another nice evening, although there was the slightest hint of drizzle. Need windscreen wipers on my glasses!
