Had to do some form filling in today: Rottenburg has a "second home tax" so I need to tell them what my flat costs and why I live here. Fortunately, it looks like I'm exempted because it's for work; the city seems to be targeting people with holiday homes.

High time they had that tax here. It is being talked about amid screams of anguish from those affected.

Another misty morning but it may brighten up later.
Paid the electrician bill for getting my storage heater problem fixed.
£154 which considering the cost of new parts is not too bad. I alway pay such bills promptly as it helps to get prompt service if needed in the future.
I ordered a new jersey from Hoggs of Fife on Friday and it turned up while I was have an afternoon nap yesterday.
Not cheap but having been in the knitwear business I do know how much such things should cost.
People such as the postie never shut my door properly as it needs an extra pull to get it secure so when I wakened I found my door ajar having being pushed open by the wind. Good job I live in a relatively crime free area.

A grey and mild day here chez Casa Reynard.

Had another night of not overly great sleep, so feeling distinctly sub-par. Have spent the morning writing and doing some kitchen stuff. I shall be making soup (barszcz czerwony) this afternoon.

Feel a bit miffed, as there was only one bidder on that wodge of stock car results and points charts, and so it went for the opening bid. I kind of regret not throwing my hat in the ring now, but with a lot that a seller isn't willing to split, it's always the case of what the blazes do you do with the stuff you *don't* need. In this case, only two out of the nearly 30 sheets were relevant to me, the remainder being way out of my area of expertise.

Madam Lexi has the zoomies.

Had a lovely luncheon of polish sausage on toast, a nectarine and a :cuppa:

Errands have been erranded. I had a mosey in the butcher's to see if there was anything I might like to stick in the freezer, but not this time. Although he does have some very nice-looking black pudding in stock.

Soft plastics taken to Tesco. Stocked up on the stuff I wanted, and picked up BBQ sauce, hot sauce, organic single cream, some pears and two packs of green beans on yellow sticker.

Now plan on having a quiet evening.

Have we gone back to the discussion about things we can do with polish? Not sure I'd want to eat it.
