I suppose it also gives you a plan 'B' if the visual effect doesn't work.

Yes, actually had a bit of training in plan 'B'.

Three again and still three an hour later so a buff used for the first time this year for a, non stop, ebike commute. A day early this week and the 7 minute late blood test before the hospital appointment tomorrow didn't seem too much of an issue. Then I walked into M&S and saw someone pick up the only two non overly green or eat me immediately bunches of bananas.

One of my neighbours is out on the field behind us, cutting the grass. He pops out and cuts a path round the perimeter of the field, so people can walk round it (usually with dogs). It once was a football field belonging to the local school, but it's been left to go wild. It was left to the community by what was once 'Crown Wallpaper', but they have long gone. The council no longer maintain the field, so this chap just pops out for a couple of house and mows a path round the field for everyone.

The rally was won by an island resident , and there has been some great coverage on line for those interested .
A resident does have an advantage of knowing the roads. I posted earlier somewhere in a light hearted way that when my wife was a teacher at Dervaig she could hold her own on that road for speed. Thinking further she taught as a supply teacher in nearly all Mull schools and one involved a commute of nearly 50 miles each way. Fortunately it was only for a week but her speeds were impressive in a bog standard Cortina.

Dry day with sunny intervals and supermarket shopping done.
Otherwise a frustrating day.
Rally traffic was parked on the carriageway at Craignure for about half a mile before the ferry check in. They have been warned now that is not acceptable and not to turn up early and cause problems. This meant that I had right of way much to the frustration of non rally oncoming traffic who simply had to wait till I got past.
Then on the single track I was fourth car in a convoy of five with idiots in front and behind. The lead car stopped in a passing place for any oncoming car even if it was already stopped in a passing place. This simply caused problems as the single car could not pass five in one passing place. If I had been second in line I would simply have passed them and carried on but too dodgy with three in front.
I got fed up as I could not get in front of them so decided to let the last car pass me and wait a bit to get a clearer run when I may have been able to get into top gear. When I indicated and pulled into a passing place the idiot behind stopped and waited until I gave up and drove on with it still behind.
Once home phoned OVO who insist I must have a smart meter and make an appointment to get one fitted. Now they say they have no appointments n this area.
Why keep sending me text messages and emails then?

Thank you to all here for helping me to decide on my new ringtone.
I'd updated from the 'Psycho shower scene' to 'Inky Pinky Ponky, Daddy's got a Donkey' but was never totally happy with it..
I am now listening to the 'Captain Pugwash' theme music when my phone rings.. 🤗

It's been largely a pleasant if slightly chilly day here chez Casa Reynard after the overnight rain.

Slept ok-ish. Went out for a gentle bimble around the village playing fields with a friend and her dogs. It was good to catch up in person, as it's been four weeks since I saw her last! She gave a good home to some of my freebie beetroot - I had three and a half kilos of the things!

On the way home, I stopped off at the book exchange and picked out a couple of interesting-looking cook books, a "Game of Thrones" prequel novel, a Calvin and Hobbes book and a hardback tome entitled "The Complete Chronicles of Narnia". I think I have some good reading matter for a while. I've always loved the Narnia books, but it's been a fair few years since I've read them. Although I have "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" both as an audio book and DVD box set (the version that was shown on the BBC around 1990-ish).

I have also loaded the crock pot with a lamb & chickpea tikka masala. Which smells lovely, btw. All I need to do is to sort out the rice cooker in a little while.
