I was just watching a video of someone making some craft things for kids. They were using some cardboard and laying rows of string or wool and then threading coloured material between it to make some material. I was wondering how things progressed from just twirling some wool together to make some sort of string to then weaving. I wonder if it started off with weaving leaves and then progressed to wool?

Looks like heavy rain with sunny intervals so no getting out much today.
I need to get a few things loaded into the car between the showers as I have a reasonably early start tomorrow.
The forecast does not look very hopeful for some trike runs on the mainland as it seems to be mostly rain and then there are two days with appointments to attend.
Getting old and decrepit is no fun.

No milk for my porridge this morning and I do not want to open another carton just for a couple of mornings and then having to carry the rest in the car without spilling any.
Chuck a banana with some water into the liquidiser and lo and behold. Banana milk.

Re your remark about divers. You may not be aware that some scubies specialise in tearing wrecks apart to pinch anything.
We found a previously unknown wreck in the Sound of Mull [ the location on charts was wrong so people were searching in the wrong place] but kept quiet about it till some fool with too much booze let the secret out. Within weeks boat loads of them arrived and literally tore the thing apart for souvenirs. It was a coal carrier so no cargo of great value to them.

I don't know much about diving but this has always been a popular wreck with divers as I understand it's accessible and there is the question of the gold it was carrying when it went down. The Royal Navy divers did recover the gold c1920 as it was government property, but a small amount remains unaccounted for. I can't imagine anyone will ever find it now after all these years.

Bits of the Laurentic turn up every around that area, often found on display in pubs etc. The large gun that was on board was recovered in the 1990s and put on display at a nearby harbour.

Sunny and 23 currently. Ebike had an elongated journey to Waitrose via Morrisons as the Trolley app had implied they had toothpaste in a triple pack as the cheapest but none to found.
Other items bought although I was less than impressed with some days out of date chilled desserts still on the shelf.
A large, apparently two months worth toothpaste, bought from Waitrose 50p cheaper than Morrisons wanted for it
Normal route home was blocked by a stuck transit type van and a removal van so a quick flip onto a nornal outbound route.

What country do they usually use ?

If you Peruse the internet you might find out. A llama there would hear it.

A warm and vaguely sunny day here chez Casa Reynard after a grey and drizzly start.

Slept well, and was woken up by Madam Lexi who decided it was fun to exfoliate my neck and arm. Once the relatively insignificant rain stopped, I've been sat in the garden with the laptop watching coverage from Paris - in the company of Madam Lexi.

Kind of half deciding whether to go and have a bimble around the classic car show in Ely this afternoon as some friends are exhibiting their Morrises, but I'm feeling kind of lazy.

Sunny spells and heavy rain showers as predicted.
Had a chat with the neighbour who gave me the No Parking sign and will put in a post for hers to make it look more “ official” when I back home after my mainland trip.
Saw a pair of Sand Martins swooping around in front of the house. They are only the second ones I have seen this year. Also a pair of Starlings foraging in the field. There used to be a small flock but not seen them this year either.
We used to have lots of bats in the late evening but they are not here now. Probably like the swallows their roosts have been destroyed for house conversions.
