A warm-ish and occasionally sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

I managed fifteen hours out of the twenty four. I have stayed awake for the whole race on quite a number of occasions, but not this time. Am having a quiet day watching the football. And there does not seem to be any further evidence of slugs in the garden.

I have a :cuppa: and a chocolate biskit

Light rain and a cold northerly wind made for a miserable day tho’ looking out at my neighbour’s flag the wind seems to have gone back to SW.
Cruise liner in plus a three masted full rigged ship. Passengers stravaiging everywhere and one bunch blocked me on a corner before shifting reluctantly.
Went up to visit my wildlife pal whose garden this year is so far a disaster as the cold has held everything back. His teenage grandson struck it lucky as I appeared at the bottom of the road just as he got off a service bus and so got a lift for the mile up the road.
I said I would check if I still had my old fly rid as the lad is keen on fishing and can have it if I can find it.

Need to do some furniture shifting as the thermostat on my immerser has adjusted itself to high so water is hotter than I want and costs a lot more in electricity charges. The tank is in a bedroom cupboard with a chest of drawers in front. No easy task to get shifted.

Cycled a loop around the Rhins of Galloway today. Some rain early on but it dried up in the afternoon. I did the tour of Mull of Galloway lighthouse which is interesting and I've got my cert now to say I've climbed the 115 steps. I'm not great with heights and I thought I'd bitten off more than I could chew when I went outside on to gantry that surrounds the lantern. I couldn't look down or go to railings. I enjoyed seeing the ancient diesel engines that power the fog horn. I'd love to see one of them started up.

The ride back to Stranraer was a drag though, mostly in first gear into a horrible headwind.

I suspect they don't get many cycle tourist as their bike stands don't appear to get much use. I had to have a fight with the weeds first!

There's been a whole afternoon of dry and (mostly) sunny weather in this corner of Suffolk. Just need the wind to drop a bit now. Popped round to see dad for a little while this afternoon and then added in a circuit of Felixstowe for some extra fresh air.

I treated myself to a late afternoon ctrl+alt+delete reset with a 45 minute snooze in the armchair.

Evening .
It has been a lovely sunny day which started early with us having to catch a coach. We were on a coach trip down to the West Somerset Railway for a fish and chips ride to Minehead. It was a good job we went today as we had some heavy showers yesterday. We had a pleasant time in Minehead and walked along to the old harbour which looked very pretty . We had cream tea served to us on the train trip to Bishop library to our coach. We got back just after 8.
