Oh and today's funny incident was that with the strong wind behind me and hitting nearly 30mph in places, I managed to keep up with one of those hideous Bentley SUVs on the single track road to the lighthouse as he was being quite cautious and even when he did pull away a bit, he always met another car coming the other way and had to stop and I caught up again.

All that money spent and barely able to outrun a Brompton!

I was just reading a thread about wearing cycling helmets. I wear mine to keep SWMBO happy and to keep the sun off my head. A bit about pre cancerous cells from my doctor made me cover my bonce. What I find really annoying is getting buzzy things trapped in there whilst cycling! For one thing! you don't know what it is ! It might suddenly give you a nasty painful reminder that it wants to get out. I wish they would put some kind of mesh in the vents.

I'm pretty sure you can get skid lids with an insect mesh fitted. IIRC, my old one did have one. My current Bell helmet doesn't

The other thing to avoid is prescription cycling glasses wih the prescription bit being an insert - flipping disconserting when some insect is crawling between the insert and the main glass

It has been a lovely sunny day which started early with us having to catch a coach. We were on a coach trip down to the West Somerset Railway for a fish and chips ride to Minehead. It was a good job we went today as we had some heavy showers yesterday. We had a pleasant time in Minehead and walked along to the old harbour which looked very pretty . We had cream tea served to us on the train trip to Bishop library to our coach. We got back just after 8.

We didn't go to the Library!
