Dreich morning here, not the frost that was forecast.

Having my breakfast, mid perambulation as my Saturday custom. I got my window seat this time so I can people-watch.

I'm pondering how and why the enormous long-wheelbase Toyota LandCruiser outside takes up almost as much road space as the small Iveco lorry being used to deliver coal and how we got to stage that people think they need such monstrosities to drive around town. It doesn't even have a tow bar and has low profile road tyres on massive alloys so not a work vehicle.

If there was no machine gun mounted in the back then it probably wasn't the Taliban.

Nice walk completed just about an hour ago around 3 and half miles.
Fresh clear blue sky and not as cold as either of us expected.

When I travelled across Canada by train in March one year, the daytime temperatures were as low as minus 20. Not too bad for the first hour, but then as the sun goes down, it just gets unbearable.

I just got WhatsApped a photo of an outside thermometer at my sister-in-law's in Calgary. -30C. It's 55 degrees warmer in my living room.

I'll be 75 in May but am going to start counting my birthdays in Celsius so I will only be 24 🤔

This morning I decided to take the dog on a long walk. When I returned I discovered a delivery of logs had arrived, so I spent a while putting half in the log store & half in the garage. I was a little tired afterward.

I hope they saw that I put the dog poo in the proper bin while Bonnie &I were out for a couple of miles walkies!!

Wifey has some form of a quadriceps tendon tear . she was able get the school nurse to walk her to her car w/ her stuff & she drove herself to the urgent care, where I met her, last night. breakfast in bed this morning & she'll need some kind of treatment in coming days & weeks. guess we're not skiing or snowshoeing this winter
