It's been a chilly, breezy if very sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, and I spent the bulk of it outside, well wrapped up*, dismantling that large cherry tree that Storm Gerrit skittled over. The neighbouring oak was also skittled. Both trees were dead, so good to go on the firewood front. Brought in one trailer load, and then on Thursday I shall bring in another and see what's left. Had a lovely supper of jacket potato with beans, coleslaw and stilton and have spent the evening watching the snooker and poking around on the Bay of E.

* cycling base layers and glove liners doing double duty, acting as thermals under gardening clothes.

a few months ago, maybe during the summer? I was on our 2nd (middle) floor & heard a loud bang, then a rumble. sounded like children running on the roof. I went outside & found a large chunk of ice. it must have been off an airplane, huh?
