Is the "Umschlag rechts/links" make one (stitch) left/right? Although I usually do a Knit front and back, to increase by two stitches.

Umschlag is yarn over, so it might be an increase - or it might be part of a lace or eyelet or other textured pattern - but 'it depends', which is why I asked what you are knitting. Do you have a link to the pattern? Or at least a bit more context, eg the instructions before and after the umschlag bit?

No, but I knew people that knew him and regaled me with tales. The fellow who was Henry Blake in the movie, Roger Bowen, and McLean Stevenson died a day apart from heart attacks, I believe

I am now looking at graphs of cylinder and exhaust pressures during a single 4-stroke cycle.

This mystery engine appears to be turbocharged given the notes on induction pressures down the side of the graphs.

Just to add, k f&b is usually 'querfaden'.

Ok - if its an English rib there will be a yarn over, and also a slip stitch and a knit (or purl) two together. Either all on the same row, or over 2 rows.
