Waiting in for the engineer, boiler handed its notice in this morning, with immediate effect, no heat no hot water, I recon this could be expensive.

Ouch! Gas valve gone, coming back Friday to fix it. bugger! The boiler is about eight years old and it would probably make more sense to replace it than repair it, but I've just renovated the kitchen and I can't stretch to doing that.

Mundane is pretty much an earthly matter. Houses are pretty much earthly too, unless you've bought time-share rights to a space station. I would frown on anybody that did this and mentioned it in Mundane News, even though the forces of gravity that hold space stations in orbit are very much of this world. I think you'll get away with it.

It was a valves then something else.... In all at least 3 visits each costing £100's in parts and labour, I think it came to £500 in the end!

Mines a gas valve, it'll be two visits and about £400.

It's my cycling matey's (<<Le Blaireau>>) birthday today. As a treat to himself, he took the day off and went on a long solo ride, which he recorded using his new-fangled "Strava" thing.

Imagine his joy when he got home and found that his phone's anti-virus software repeatedly cut in to prompt him about unsecured networks, rendering his valiant effort null and void.
