My OH had just evicted a spider. Here convinced it is a homing spider because he does it every other night. Tonight's eviction didn't quite go to plan. It's raining so standing at the door he threw the spider away with a little more vigour than normal promptly followed by an "oh bugger" and a clatter. I'm so glad he uses a plastic glass to catch spiders in...
He's now outside in the rain in the middle of the highlands of Scotland looking for a plastic glass he threw away with a spider in it. It the spider has any sense it will find a new home this time!
And his reason for not waiting until morning was?

I hope all goes well
It's not me that I'm worried about. It's my colleagues that are under the cosh. The school was placed in 'Special Measures' after an OFSTED inspection conducted in the last week of the summer term.
There's a lot of running around in circles, creating 'evidence' of effective learning, effective meetings, effective teaching, effective monitoring, effective marking and feedback, good or excellent teaching and the expectation that the school will join the ranks of the 'above average' school along with every other school in England.
I'm digging deep into my reserves of humour and kindness to shore up moral. I'll cope but I've already seen colleagues who are on the edge.
