Like the pioneer days. The rooster didn't wake you? They always used to get up extry special early and practice before they actually crowed, in concert with the dawn chorus.

Yep, he does that. But the dawn chorus here is so loud that he barely really registers! The laughing kookaburra families are more noisy as are the frogs and roads which start up like natural history shows from the jungle...

Occasionally he crows during the day when he wants my attention but otherwise there is a selection of other noises some new to me but aimed at the chooks. I'm still working them out.

Currently at the hospital getting an x-ray of both lungs. Dr pretty certain I have broken ribs. Will get results later when she Dr rings me. The good news is that they are happy with the healing of my knee.

I'm glad you have gone to get checked over. Hope they can give you something to help with the pain and that your lung xrays come back with minimal if not no damage.

It was very shouty.

I have decided I am missing out on all the entertainment that's going on in the election campaign over the pond.

I've broken, not cracked, at least 4 ribs. 2 on each side and that's before things have been properly looked at. Got copies of the films so will post later.

I'm pleased, apart from anything it's worth trying out the hospital system to find out how it works there. I'm so ignorant about Australia's health system, do you have to pay for anything/everything?

You are likely to be left with a white patch on that knee when it heals I suspect. I have a smaller patch on my knee that I took a chunk out of and now it's the first thing that gets sunburn!
