Completely agree, gave them both a go for the benefit of the doubt but is basically an hour of my life I'll never get back.
Was going to watch, but thanks for heads up, I shall now save an hour of my life, I might even go and have a strummette on the guitar ( once I've filled the old Tum Tum up with cottage pie

Other dog keeping guard and chickens have found the disturbed ground for a good scrat

A couple of minutes ago the bird feeder and back fence only needed Tippi Hedren to have a remake on the go.

Do you need permission/license to keep chickens?

Some councils have restrictions, mainly around any commercial activity from them, selling the eggs on etc.

Mostly though, if they are rescues at the end of their commercial usefulness (approx 18 months old) then effectively kept as pets they are OK, they still lay for a while but not to the level required by industry and our Brown Isas have stopped completely now, they are nearly 4 years old, which is a decent age for ex-batts and they're probably not going to last very much longer so are conserving their energy for themselves rather than brewing an egg every other day.

Edit: fixing my word blindness

Understanding neighbours are required I suspect.
