I feel a flounce coming on. You lot are rotten. I try and introduce culture and all you do is take the p1ss. That's no way to treat a highly educated philosopher.
Are you sure about that ?

So, my Saris Bones 2 bike rack arrives on Monday from Wiggle.

I start to put it together on Tuesday only to realise an integral knut is missing. Not a problem i have some great ironmongers and an excellent timber yard here.

I vist said ironmongers on Wednesday they say :headshake:. I :surrender:

I go to the Timber Yard today, they have thousands of the bloody things but they say "No love, it's a Yankie bike rack it's all imperial " "Hang on Screwfix up the road do imperial."

I race to Screwfix. Nice lady in Screwfix looks high and low, tries lots of different knuts and then a very nice man called Ed, a regular in the shop pipes up, "Something can be done, don't worry i'll have a look in my van". He returns:headshake:.

Oblox, the bike is going to have to go in the boot dismantled then

Ed says, " i won't be beaten follow me home and i will sort you out"

I go. At this point i have to say i do not recommend following complete strangers home to their tool sheds but i did:blush: and after half an hour Ed a complete stranger who i met in Screwfix had fixed my bike rack and refused point blank to take anything for his time. His answer to this was that someone helped him out one Sunday afternoon when his radiator sprung a leak on the way home from France and he never forgot it.

So Ed thank you so much, you are a star:cheers::wahhey:

If anybody is curious, i did ring Wiggle but they wanted the whole thing back and they would send a new one out.

It is always good to know there are nice people left in this world.

What you do is save all the nuts and bolts from when you dismantle anything at all, and store them in a collection of Old Holborn tins. I inherited a fine selection when my dad died, and can't stop myself adding to them ever since.
I have hundreds of nuts/bolts/washers of all shapes and sizes somewhere, the perk of working in engineering for 20 years :okay:
