I still cannot get over the weather, cold and windy! Sunday night my Guides and I slept under the stars in survival bags. I would not have wanted to do that last night or today for that matter

that's how my stinking cold started last week..
ive been making honey and lemmon drinks..
2 tbs of honey 1 tbs of lemmon juice in half a mug of boiled water well mixed ..really soothing..

Add a tot of gin and you will either feel better or not care.

Definitely, I like my girls to be prepared.

It is something I had never done and I must say I really loved it. Sat with a cuppa in my bag while the world slowly woke up was lovely. I am even tempted to buy a proper bivvy bag and try and sleep out more often.

Just cleaned the kitchen floor and of course it is now covered in dirty paw prints.

Life is too short to concern myself with it any further.

I wish we had some gorgeous sculptures like that on our beach. The best we have is this at the entrance to the Pier.

It takes some getting used to.

I wouldn't willingly sleep in one of those...........................ever.
I remember once when we were setting off to walk Snowden by the traditional path from the old hotel (now the Snowden Ranger Hostel) in mid October the guy at the hostel asking if we'd got 'survival bags' and a flask I told him no but I'm taking a tent that'll go up in 90 seconds and 2 down sleeping bags.
He looked at me and said "90 seconds?" so I said "have you got 2 minutes" went outside with him and got him to time me as I went from carrying my rucksack to diving into the tent in 85 secs (it was a Litchfield 'Viper' that goes up 'fly first' with just 11 pegs and 2 guy ropes) he was impressed, but the tent is a 'Canadienne' type not one of these modern 'hoop or dome' types and the inner just hangs on 2 hooks (plus I used to put the flysheet up regularly when we stopped for a bite to eat if it was raining just as a shelter)
