Beautifully sunny here. I've cut my hair and made a right mess of it but on the upside, have hoovered, done the washing up and put a wash on. Now despairing over the state of the nation having read some of the residents' comments on the local police force's FB page. Seems there was a rave, which the locals weren't thrilled about, but the police rightly declined to go in with riot gear and re-enact some of the scenes from the 80s. Some of the residents are wonderfully furious. Apparently, back up should have been called in from across the county ... or the army! Oh, and the police are biased in favour of druggies and against "innocent" people who drive over the speed limit.

It was funny at first, but then made me depressed. I hate loud noises that I can't control (inc random fireworks) but didn't realise that my reaction was so moderate in comparison to those who want the military deployed against its own citizens.

Talking of sandwiches and beer. We are off to a 60th birthday party at a working mens club. Given the venue and the home patch of most of the people going, it could get like a scene from Shameless. We will not be stopping long.

Wish us luck, red wine and soothing Icelandic music may be required later.
I spent a lovely evening listening to Rory Gallagher's songs sung with a slight Dutch accent.

I'm just sitting drinking coffee and about to browse the Internet to see if I can find a good folding sun hat! So that I'm not as red faced as I am currently:whistle:

Went to Manchester yesterday to buy my daughter a Ukulele for her birthday. Went to Forsythe's on Deansgate - proper old skool music shop. Anyway, walked away with an electro-acoustic one - i.e. can plug into an amp (we have an amp), but it also has a built in tuner. After this we popped to a bar for lunch and had a wander back via a couple of more bars !!

Easy day today as my back is a bit sore from the walking.
