Just back from a lovely long lunch with my friend at a very good restaurant on the beach to celebrate her birthday.

A coupleish View attachment 128065 of these were drunk and i can thoroughly recommend it . Such a beautiful warm day today as we were sat looking out on to the millpond sea.

Just got soaked. I popped out to meet Mrs R for a cup of tea and a bun near where she has been lecturing. It was dry when I started cycling but soon chucked it down. I've just got back and it's stopped raining.

Here the rain stopped at dinner time, though it might be back later. I've spent the afternoon with the hoe in my hand weeding, the weeds seem less unwilling to leave the soil if its been raining.

Snap! I've just been round with the hoe while the soil is soft. It'll be baked hard again tomorrow (clay soil). As you say, the weeds couldn't cling on. Ha.
