More wheels than sense
I have to say I haven't been a fan of this big long late season break.

Just as it was getting going again the season stopped. I don't think the season has flowed very well.

Is the gap so large due to the Chinese GP being cancelled again ?

No, the Chinese GP is usually in the spring. The races are clumped together in order to reduce the amount of travelling. Which is also why we have USA, Mexico and Brazil all back-to-back.

Lots of noise an accusations flying round about Red Bulls adjustable tea tray.

That it's isn't adjustable during Parc ferme conditions because the car requires significant disassembly to access the mechanism - and we know this to be the case because the drawings have been lodged with FIA on their open server which all teams can access- hasn't stopped the finger pointing.

A sign of things starting to get tetchy and nerves fraying as the season ends draws near?

I think that the way red bull have conducted themselves recently has rubbed quite a few people up the wrong way who will enjoy an opportunity to poke and stir for them at any opportunity. They've lost their cheeky upstart persona and become, imho, a bit unpleasant.

RB made a point yesterday of visibly demonstrating the device to the FIA inspectors. Bodywork removed, pedals removed, some pipe work removed, and a special 2 foot long tool required to make the adjustment.
Clearly there is no way in hell they could tamper with that under Parc feerme and not be spotted, so it's a non issue. The drawings have been visible to all teams on the FIA servers for over three years so it's difficult to see how they could have been trying to hide anything of do anything sneaky.

Rumours are Zak Brown, the pounds shop Tonto Wilff, is the one behind the complain the FIA and the one driver outside of RB that has commented is one of his... (actually my favourite current driver, so I'm a bit disappointed.)

So no evidence of cheating, and an investigation has shown it would be impossible to make the adjustment under parc ferme as alleged, yet the team that have sailed close to the wind with flexi wings- and lost a few points of their advantage now it's been stamped down on - is the one that feels it has the moral high ground.

A sign of weakness there from Brown, and if his team loses the drivers championship by a narrow margin the shareholders should be asking him why he felt it wise to waste time and resources on an irrelevance at a crucial point of the championship.

Confirmed - it was Brown.

And now they've had to modify their flexi wing Norris could only qualify fourth for the sprint. A case of pot and kettle with some Brown verbal diarrhea thrown in for good measure.

The TPs should be made to wear gags during he season. I'm not interested in the Drive to Survive nonsense and would rather not have to put up with it during normal proceedings.

Good sprint race, Carlos cut through them like a hungry shark. Russell crashing ruined Max's attempt at his fastest lap so Norris starts first, Carlos then LeBerk. Should be a good race, especially if Carlos is still on that roll.

Eh? Sprint results do not influence the main race grid and in F1 qually it is Lando, Max, Carlos. George crashed in the dying moments of Q3 when Max was on a hot lap which he had to abort, hence 2nd. Pierre seems to have found something as has Kevin. Liam did an incredible job in Q1 but given his penalties it wasn’t worth carrying on.

McLaren are, unsurprisingly, moaning.

Stella reckons Norris was ahead at the apex an Verstappen went off as well.

Well, im not sure which race he was watching because the one I saw had Max take a late entry to the corner and he was undeniably well ahead at the apex, so he gets to dictate the line.

Max went very wide but his two nearside wheels stayed firmly on the white line so he didn't exceed track limits.

Stella moaning that Max does this all the time. Well, it's legal, fair, and if he does it all the time Norris was stupid to try the move from so far back.

I'm not always a Max fan but fail to see what he did wrong there. McLaren are just starting to come apart mentally, as Wolfy did, as the drivers championship slowly slips away.

Cracking performance from Lawson. Perez must surely now have a serious squeaky bum issue, and Tsunoda will be seriously pithed off.

Perez does rather seem to be costing them the constructors championship by failing to keep up with Max. He has had more bad luck than Max, but he should be finishing higher up the rankings than he is.

That's pretty much what I saw too.

I'm not a fan of all the whistle in modern F1, but for me this wasn't a proper pass.

If, as he says it's what Max does, and it is, they should've been expecting it and dealing with it. Max does it because it works.

McLaren as an organisation are sharp-end rusty and the new management haven't had the experience. But yea, they need to stop moaning, it's not endearing.
