So you googled the only white rapper you've heard of , well done.

It did seem the easiest way to illustrate the point, no?
Rappers are a group of wealthy entertainers - several of whom frequent the F1 grid - who famously swear a lot, as part of their job. Yes, they are mostly black, but ...
The most famous white rapper also swears like a trooper.
QED 🤷‍♀️

Hmmm. Maybe ...

Or not. Plenty of people swear in all walks of life.

Let's not forget the amount of time Lewis has the rapper/wannabe gangster tag associated with him for nothing other than his social life and choice of clothes.

It does miss the point though. When someone says "rapper" they are most likely referring to the majority 49 of the worlds top rappers (as returned by google) who are all black / mixed race, rather than the 2 white guys. If you say "soul music" people tend to think of James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin etc rather than Adele, Robin Thicke and Hall and Oates.

It's about what you generally associate with the genre not that "not all rappers are black".

So you're saying that what you most associate with "soul music" is a non-white skin colour? (and the same when you hear "rappers")

Yes. My "go to" image for rap music is African / African American given that it originated in Africa and is predominantly done by people who are of African heritage (e.g. African Americans). Similarly given that soul music originated in the US African-American community and has its roots in gospel and rhythm and blues and is most well known for its incredible and very famous range of US African American singers, I feel it's pretty synonymous with "non white skin colour".

If you say rap or soul you generally think black African American. In fact there is even a term for soul music sung by white people "Blue eyed Soul" which was coined to describe the Righteous Brothers.

In the same way as what you would associate with the EDL?

Your first thought isn't the Black or Asian community, is it?

I don't know what you're trying to say here, but you seem almost as determined as you are cryptic

Really? It doesn't take much working out

Why do you struggle to see the connection between rappers and the black community?
