Think that penalty was a bit harsh in comparison to some of the others they haven't penalised , it was a racing incident,
Lewis Ramilton living up-to-date his nickname again, although I also agree the penalty was a bit harsh. I too reckon it was just this side of a racing incident, but then I'm not a Marshal.
He doesn't have that nickname. I think you are thinking of Max Verchrashen.Lewis Ramilton living up-to-date his nickname again, although I also agree the penalty was a bit harsh. I too reckon it was just this side of a racing incident, but then I'm not a Marshal.
He had the corner and understeer was always on the cards - Checo was self-destructive to hang it out on the outside. Sometimes withdraw and regroup is smarter than battle it out regardless.
Certainly the commentators seemed to feel that Perez was a bit of a twit for not backing off.Hamilton only had his nose in front for the briefest of time and was only halfway alongside the Redbull when the collision occurred. It did, to me, appear to be more on the side of a racing incident but we don’t have access to the data the stewards have.

It actually kind of supports what the commentators said. Perez left no room on the inside for Hamilton, and when he understeered due to wet conditions he hit Perez. If Perez had left more room there wouldn't have been a collision. Slightly baffled as to why they then fault Hamilton for causing the collision. Where was he supposed to go?He may, or may not have been but I’m sure the steward’s decision on the matter would be interesting to read if published.

I didn't say that they should. I said I didn't fully understand the decision given that Perez left nowhere for Hamilton to go.Think of it this way. Verstappen has understeered into Ramilton in a similar scenario and was punished. Hamilton's fanbois would accept no such excuses back then, so why should things be any different two years on when Hamilton does the same?
