If you have a couple of quid to spare, you could actually own the launch car

Auction ends on the 21st Feb
Do you think we should put in a joint bid?

And I thought the rules were meant to get shot of all those little aero doodads on the side of the floor...

Whether it's been removed or were just a feature during launch to get the clicks, who knows, but they aren't on the car in todays test/media run

The launch car rarely shows any real aero

Not so much that, but you'd be surprised at just how many "good ideas" get binned as soon as a car turns a wheel for real.

I'm currently wading through a load of documentation and articles on the Swallow F3 project - it came in a bunch of other stuff that I acquired last week, and that's a classic example. Launched with fanfare in partnership with Eddie Jordan Racing, disappeared from the scene a few months later with a whimper. Although I do believe that one of the tubs still survives as a hillclimb car.

Aston, McLaren and Ferrari are much of the same but with a few litres of paint missing. Bit like the RB

Rumour has it Merc have been working with a paint supplier to come up with a special lightweight paint.

I don't understand the way in which a lot of teams have gone for a Matt finish when they tested paint finishes on Spitfires in the war which showed a performance improvement by using gloss paint . I also think it looks horrible !

I'm sure they have done wind tunnel tests - and probably rather more sophisticated ones than were available in WW2
