I tried to pay my respects on the national rail website but all I got was this disgrasefull error message
Edit: Ed, a big part of humour is knowing your audience. I'd hazard that there's maybe two other people on this entire website who have heard of "Press F to pay respects"

111,000 complaints to the BBC about their coverage - roughly doubling the previous 'record', which was heavily influenced by faith groups mobilising regarding Jerry Springer - The Opera.

At the very end of this report it says:
BBC 'receives 100,000 complaints' over Prince Philip coverage - BBC News
"On Saturday, the BBC put a dedicated form on its website to allow viewers to complain about the TV coverage, in recognition of the volume of complaints.
The form was removed on Sunday, after the number of complaints began to fall, the corporation said."

People forget how recent all this royalty-reverence actually is. Up until HM Brenda, it was pretty touch & go whether the monarchy would survive the 20th century, and even She is riding on a media-generated iconography that didn't really begin until the media-savvy Prince Albert hit town. Before that, a more typical media take on royalty would be James Gillray's depiction of the Prince Regent.

It doesn't even make sense. How could the numbers be going down? Were people withdrawing complaints or do they mean the rate of complaints was slowing?
