I used to work with a Welsh guy named Dave. For him "now" meant "some time in the future, probably." I don't know if that was a Dave-ism or a Welsh thing.
"I'll do it now" meant "I'll put it on my list of things to do, and if you're lucky and I don't forget, it will get done within the next week or so"
