Got to be abide with me....

Abide with me, fast falls the eventide
The darkness deepens Lord, with me abide
When other helpers fail and comforts flee
Help of the helpless, oh, abide with me
Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day
Earth's joys grow dim, its glories pass away
Change and decay in all around I see
O Thou who changest not, abide with me

I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness
Where is death's sting?
Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me

Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee
In life, in death, o Lord, abide with me
Abide with me, abide with me
Time to shuffle off, not RL Challenge Cup Final

When I opened the envelope left by my wife on her desk, with her funeral wishes and instructions. The first track she'd picked was Satisfy my soul by Paul Carrack, I'd took her to see him just before she became ill. Knowing I'm really into lyrics, I sat down and carefully read them. She was giving me my future instructions, over three years later I can listen and not cry, sometimes.

It's lists like this which makes me a big fan of Direct Cremation. Reminds me Leeds Museum has an excellent temporary exhibition on Death, it's a bit grim but worth visiting.

This is an example of a Fantasy Coffin, originating in Ghana and meant to be used by the deceased in the afterlife.

There's also a Ghost Bike on display, very sobering.
