Funny dat ^. Just posted this a moment ago:

Interesting fact for football fans.

Most people know that The Proclaimers are massive Hibs fans and that their fantastic song Sunshine On Leith is sung at games. But something a lot of you do not realise is that many years ago , brothers Craig and Charlie both worked as groundsmen for the club.

They got the sack after players complained that the grass was too long and it ruined their passing game.

The brothers blamed this on DIY store B and Q

They went to Bathgate no mower, Linwood no mower, Irvine no mower, Lochaber no mower, Sutherland no mower, Lewis no mower, Skye no mower...

Yellow card and final warning for that. 😁

Well, I knew an old man who lived all alone
In a sad little house at the end of the road
He sat on the front porch in an old rocking chair
And everyone swore he'd gone crazy down there
But no one comes near so how could they know
He lost someone dear to him once long ago
He remembers the laughter and still tastes the tears
He still calls her name out after all of these years

And then came the announcement over the loudspeaker
"Would those having relatives or friends on Flight number 1203
Please report to the chapel across the street at once"
Then I felt a burning break deep inside

And I knew the heavenly ebony skies
Had taken my life's most wonderful prize
My beautiful Ebony Eyes
If I ever get, to heaven I'll bet
The first angel I'll recognise
She'll smile at me and I know she will be
My beautiful Ebony Eyes

Not a great lover of slushy songs.

When my father died some years ago, when arranging his funeral, my sister said she wanted Dance with my Father by Luther Vandross played. We had a bit of an argument as I said it was cloying and my father would have hated it...for one thing he never danced. Luckily it was the only thing we disagreed on and she did eventually agree that it just wasn't him.
