I don't care about transitional updates of the work, just let me know when it's done!

Some time later....

Why aren't you giving updates of progress?

:hungry:

But 'brown bag' sessions continue to be popular.
Can see why they would be popular...

Which is worrying, as it's supposed to be part of their mandatory information governance training...
Not really Reg. As clinicians, they are fully aware of responsibilities surrounding information governance. This isn't affected by nobody recalling this term.

Then there's the management style of questioning the bleedin obvious

We were sent an email with a photo attached of a barrier that's been hit by a forklift and is dislodged. It requests we repair it....followed by the words....'we need to understand how this happened guys "

Errrrr...
My colleague rolled his eyes..
'FFS, a forklift tw@tted it, how many ways can you explain it ?'

Dropped out of the sky did it? Or perhaps just possibly it might be worth looking at the events leading up to the said "twatting" to see if there's anything the company maybe could be doing differently to avoid something similar happening again?

I'm pretty sure the airline industry didn't achieve its current safety record by saying "oh, yeah, someone flew their plane into the sea" and leaving it at that every time something went wrong.

Our HR dept has now implemented "A ZERO HARM STRATEGY." This means that we are still sent into asbestos riddled crap holes, but they send us lots of letters telling us how much they care and are actively working for "zero harm outcomes for all employees." Which is nice.

Yebbut, pretty pointless asking us, we just fix the stuff the idiots break. Itd be much more useful to ask the guys that were actually responsible.
But no...it shows a lack of real...and I mean real determination to solve the problem. Go through the motions and ask the wrong person, then you won't have to take any meaningful or hard decisions.
Lazy management basically.

The Chief Exec (or whatever his official title is) of a south coast NHS hospital was on TV last night. They had gone from being assessed as "failing" to "requiring improvement" i.e. they have got a bit better but there is still more work to do.

He explained that they were "exceeding their improvement trajectory"

I spend half my life in the NHS reporting on recovery trajectories! It's the new buzzword

information governance? Another example of bullspeak.
Would you be happy with your personal details being transferred around the country/world with it available for all to see?

"Demand Curve" was one the management used to trot out a lot in the police. The problem with police management is that most of them hadn't done actual police work long enough to realise you can't predict demand in that environment. New Years Eve celebrations could be randomly quiet because of sudden bad weather, whereas a quiet Wednesday night in March could go mental for no apparent reason. Coaches don't crash and murderers don't strike to suit the neat and tidy "demand curve" that the scrambled egg liked to adhere to.

Oh lordy that's gotta be one of the best! And just think those guys actually say this cr4p with a straight face like it's the most normal ting in the world.
