I think he sometimes forgets to engage brain first, a bit like when after Roglic picked up a few bonus seconds last week and he came out with "He would have to take a lot of bonuses to make up that time" I wouldn't be goading someone like Roglic.

Lol.... definitely not ageing well, spices things up a bit though ! Saw him after the stage talking about alliances as well 🤣

very hard to tell whether Carapaz pushed off the road as he squeezed past or there wasn't room to get through and he touched a DAG2R wheel.

The blocking that teams do is quite pathetic. If you don't want more riders up the road, then set a higher pace!

should be a dynamic stage today. Short and punchy, summit finish, good success rate of breakaways in last few days, it should be fast and furious.

But if they do that, then they'll catch the breakaway, which they don't want to do too early.

I fully understand why they do it. I also understand why you (and other people) don't like it, but it really isn't "pathetic".

Chapeau Pablo Castillo what a ride !
Max Poole in second place he's been nothing short of class, got to be a stage with his name on please.
Soler in 3rd....feel for him 🤣

All of the above ^^^
Soler really made the break happen too. I'm sure Max Poole will win soon. Saw an interview with him & it's great to hear the race broken down in a Scunthorpe accent

OMG then we might get a race instead of a scripted theatre and how awful that would be(!)

Keep on yellow carding 'em, I say. Stop this silly controlling of breakaways.

If yellow cards are given for that, then there will be no more racing, because the riders will just strike until such a stupid rule is removed.

If you think it is "scripted theatre" then maybe just don't bother watching.

This Vuelta has been about as far from that as it is possible to imagine.

Very clear from last nights highlights that he was just forced off the road by the DAG2R rider alongside him. His team mate had just headed off to join the recently formed break and clearly BoC didnt want Carapaz up the road joining it.

should be a greater punishment than a yellow card, its still being investigated apparently.

The rule in question is “obstruction by a rider in order to prevent or delay the movement of another rider or vehicle,” And like many things in cycling it's going to be nuanced as there are times when entirely legitimate behaviour could be construed as that. So there will be the usual "it's down to the commissaires" business. And the best thing to do is just accept that that's how it is.

Of course, even when there are very precise and specific rules with no room at all for nuance they still get ignored (thinking Van Aert getting his chain lubed from the car on his way to winning something in Flanders (E3?) last year or the year before.) or extremely zealously applied (Kristen Faultkner in Strade Bianchi the same weekend with some kind of blood monitoring gizmo that wasn't connected to anything).

should be a greater punishment than a yellow card, its still being investigated apparently.
Really? That's just plain stupid. What kind of extra evidence are they hoping to dig up. DNA tests?

Not even remotely clear that he was pushed by anybody.

They showed all the available footage, and there was no indication that anybody actually moved towards himn at all. And an interview with WVA, who was not involved but was fairly close behind and saw what happened, and said he couldn't see anything wrong.

From what was visible, it looked like he tried to pass where there really wasn't room, and just slipped off the edge of the road.
