I can see possible snow and icy roads, strong wind ... either we aren't looking at the same forecast or you are a proper 'Rule #9 badass' ;)
Saying that, I have ice tyres :wahhey:, so would 'just' need to wear enough layers to stay warm :cold: and leave enough time for slow progress into the wind ...

Did you have anything in particular in mind? You could always call an RV somewhere central-ish that does nice cakes and soup :mrpig:, and people will be piling in with suggestions on where to meet up along the way :giggle:, if they haven't got prior engagements....

You still with us, @mr messy? :hello: How are you getting on, must be pretty sore :B), hope the drugs are helping!
Any news on the bike's state of health?

T
Yip still here!:hello:
Getting there just wish could get rid of the headache had last couple days.
Haven't looked at bike yet, though even if frame does look okay, the fact it's been hit by a car and presumably bounced not sure how much i could trust it!

I'm afraid I can't 'like' that post, @mr messy :sad::hugs:
If the headache persists, I'd say get thee to the doc's, you don't want to mess with a possible concussion (unless that was definitely ruled out by A&E, and it's the whiplash you mentioned?).
Poor bike, too . If it was me, I definitely wouldn't ride it until it's been checked over by somebody who knows their business :stop:, I'd find it far too scary to think it might just break when going over a random pothole or something - eek!
What is it made of? Aluminium might be OK (or not), steel could be bashed back into shape or welded, carbon fibre is incredibly strong but could have invisible damage if it was hit 'the wrong way' which might only be discovered by ultrasound, I'm told. On the other hand, it might have just bounced out of the way rather than being hit by a strong force ...

I hope the police have been in touch at least!

Here's to a speedy recovery :highfive:, to be celebrated when you are ready for it! (:hungry: courtesy of @Pat "5mph" of course, feeding the 5000 that will appear out of the woodwork when food is mentioned ) [just joking, Pat!]

Was at docs today @Telemark restocking meds....yummy!
Bike just the usual alloy with carbon fork.
The plod dealing with it supposedly not back until Saturday....don't even have an incident number yet!
Roll on RV ride! ;)

Good to hear that the doc is looking after you!
Plods are plodding very slowly
Fingers crossed the bike frame gets the all-clear (or else that the insurance stumps up for a replacement, + all the bits that didn't bounce so well)...
2 weeks and a bit to go to the RV ride :wahhey:

Looking forward to the RV ride, also looking forward to my rest of the bike this weekend, only got about 16km left for the 600km challenge so pretty pleased with that

Evening all and a big virtual :hugs: to @mr messy. Are you getting the headache investigated? Hopefully it'll vanish soon, a sore body is pain enough me thinks ;)
Yes, a CC Ecosse meal is required here, so we can stay reassured all of us are still in one piece
It is very cold here, I can smell snow in the air :hyper: ice had started glossing the pavements on my commute home tonight, roads have been gritted.
I am working on Saturday, enjoy the ride if you set out!

Quality effort, that. Well done! Didn't quite make it myself, but I'm pleased enough with reaching 500k in a wet winter month.

In case this is of interest to anybody on here, the Filmhouse in Edinburgh are showing The Armstrong Lie for the next couple of weeks, starting tomorrow
(certificate 15, 'strong language' apparently )

It's made it to the west as well, both GFT and cineworld. I'm planning on going tomorrow night. Don't often go to the pictures on Saturday evenings, but I reckon this particular showing will be low on neds.

Headline taken from my local newspaper......explains everything really!
