Looks nice, as you say something solid bolted/cemented into the ground to lock the bikes to would add peace of mind ... depending on how safe your back garden/neighbourhood is in general.

I am really enjoying not just having one bike, means I don't have to take out the nicer one in the corroding winter conditions unless there's something wrong with the 'tank', and have a spare if something does go wrong with either  ... Apart from that, I am quite attached to my bikes:wub: , with lots of memories of great days/long weekends out, so would find it hard to get rid of one, unless I absolutely have to, or it's broken  (only ever had 1 frame break, fingers crossed) ...

neighborhood and garden are both good, have lived here 9 years with no issues. ( touch wood!)

I was prepared to sell, until I rode the bike again, and all the memories of last year flooded back. Last year, cycling excluded, was a year I wont miss in any way. Work was hard going with lots of travel, split up with someone , lost a relative, and a few kids we fostered that I was close to moved away. All that look a lot out of me, and I really struggled at times. the only good thing I had was being on the bike, and meeting the people from on here, who I now talk to more than most of my " real life" friends. Al those memories came back when on the bike last week, and then taking on a hill that I never ever seen me cycling. that feeling and those memories all came back, and I knew I couldnt sell the bike that helped me out.

So instead I have fallen out with my mum for 3 days after an argument on storage, and had to spend about £200 to store and run both bikes as +1 was already on its way.

Good to hear that the cycling helps/helped you last year, here's to 2014 ... hopefully it can only get better (and that you and your mum have made peace again )

And I thought yesterday's ride was grim. This weekend has been er... good conditioning for something I hope!
Did you go on the morning club ride today and head east perchance?
I waited until after lunch and had a lovely ~50k ride out west, a wee loop via Hopetoun in the sunshine (intermittent, but still a fair bit:sun:), +8C, no wind, lots of happy smiley cyclists about

No, it was a wee Audax Ecosse burl up to Sutra and then East Linton. The sun broke through as I got back to Edinburgh.

Glad some folks waited and got a fair ride later on.

Awww, congratulations to all three of you! Very cute, he doesn't look like's just been born today... :hyper::wahhey::wub:
Sleeping very peacefully in the photo, just wait until he discovers his lungs ... ;)
Apparently there are wee cot type thingies you can attach to the bike for surprisingly young babies (a few months old)... I can ask a keen cyclist colleague (daddy rather than mum) for the details if you don't have them already (and if Mrs @ShooglyDougie doesn't veto such things!)
