Also, I know you have already been @Fubar but @flyingfifi and I were thinking about Mull for next year's tour. Would you consider or should we change destination? You know it would not be a tour without you: I will organize this time :smooch:
Haven't been to Mull in years. Anywhere that involves getting on a ferry is fine by me.

   Sorry to hear that @Col5632 - do they tell you why and give any feedback for the future ... like is it worth you applying again ? Are they cutting back on recruits, so raising the entry standards ? (to graduate-only levels ?)

Sorry to hear that Colin, may be the time to look at something else for a few years, as that is a few failed attempts now. If it was me i wouod see it as better to go off and try something else and come back fresh to it with more/different life experience to show in the interviews as well.

I've not phoned for feedback yet. I was asked about the training I would receive but due to trying to learn my examples I didn't know a great deal about the police training I would get at tulliallan. My team working question didn't go to plan as their question asked for a time I had shared my knowledge to help the team but my example was not about me sharing knowledge. Just need to get my nerves settled and remember my examples better, not had an interview in over 12 years and even then it was nothing like what the police do.

What age are you?

I went for an interview there after leaving uni. Graduate promotion scheme I think it was called. I then spent a day in a school and loved it. Been teaching 13 years.

Don't know why any of that is relevant to you:laugh:

I'm 30, this is my 2nd attempt, I've passed the written stuff so I can apply as many times as I like (well twice a year) fitness is the only thing I need to do everytime

Mull is fab for cycling, good options for a short and a long routes, lots of wildlife-spotting/picture-taking opportunities, (generally) patient drivers on (mostly) single carriageways and guid craic in Tobermory - just avoid the road to Iona as lots of tourist buses use it, but that is on it's own down in the south west.

My only other comment would be the well-known difficulties of getting to Oban by public transport, i.e. trains and not being able to book bikes on them - could be a sticking point.

If we can get round these issues I would be keen to go back, depending on dates etc - I CANNOT organise another one as a) I am up to my eyeballs and b) I don't want to!

@Fubar dates would be when there are no school hols neither in Scotland or in England, June sometimes, like last year. Would this be agreeable?
We could get there any way we want to - @flyingfifi and I would be cycling some, route not sussed yet ^_^
