I wisnae invited .
Is this another CC Ecosse ride that hasn't been publicised then?
I see nothing in the Cycle Chat and Recreational Rides board.
Same as the recent Arran trip ;)..
Search under CC Ecosse lakes tour. It was advertised, just before the end of last year I think.
We have been finalizing through pm for payments and travel details.
I shall report every day of it
We went

Ahhh, found it. I even posted on it .....
May Bank holiday weekend is usually a motorbike weekend away, but never say never...
... but in my defence it was 8 months ago . I can't remember what happened yesterday! Are some of you really cycling there and back then, given that you're leaving tomorrow? Respect! Where are the overnight stops?

Arran wasn't a cc ride, it was me going amd inviting people I know. With the target of be on the 1640 ferry or be left as next one was at 720pm so cc rules couldn't be followed
OK; let y'aff then! I could have quite easily caught that 1640 ferry though.

(If I had taken the 0700 from Ardrossan). :okay:

Fiona and I are currently loafing about in Moffat before dinner. I did 60 miles in the pouring rain today
Tomorrow's much shorter stage is Moffat to Carlisle.

I did a circuit down that direction today on the motorbike! I can confirm it was WET, despite the forecast of it improving through the morning. I went Largs - Kilmarnock - Strathaven - Gretna - Kirkcudbright - Ayr - Largs. It did dry up mid afternoon by the time I got to Gretna.
Moffat - I went to a dodgy school there for 5 years of my teens (it's now the Well Road conference centre if you are unlucky enough to see the place). Crap school but nice town. Moffat Toffee shop is a must, as is Moffat toffee itself. Nothing like toffee though; it is more like a boiled sweet.
Hope you get better weather tomorrow; although according to the forecast you better start early! Oh and MUCH shorter stage? It's still about 50 miles IIRC!

You and most people would have easily made that ferry, only times we don't is if there is problems ie punctures
Not true, of my 6 times over , have made the 1640 three times, and only once missed has been due to mechanical / flying Ross

Just to add well, 'injury' to injury I had to get a tooth out yesterday... My appointment was at 2.20 but by the time the anaesthetic had been administered it was the most appropriate time for a dental appointment 2.30 (two thirty... tooth-hurty! See the comedy gold you're going to be missing this weekend @Fubar?!)

Hilarious. Stop stop, my sides have split...

Can I retract my statement regarding missing you on our tour of the lakes.
