Hey @Brandane I also was on the Maryhill canal path this morning, at around 8.30, coming down from Bishopbriggs.
Is the NCN 76 from the Kelpies to Edinburgh ok? Smoother than following the canal from the Wheel?
I wasn't on the canal path until about midday.
Re NCN 76, it is quite a good route. A bit dreary around Falkirk/Grangemouth as you might expect, but then improves. A couple of climbs coming out of Boness, then some cracking views of the Forth. A long stretch of off road unsurfaced paths before South Queensferry but the surface is quite good and it's through woodland. As usual, the NCN signage is a bit ropey and you need to keep your eyes open!

Sounds awesome, I'll read your journal tomorrow, got a million and one things to do tonight!
Errm, I found it. Looks like I did a write up then had problems with the photos so deleted it.

All I can say is it's a cracking ride. As you've been there before you know what to expect of French back roads and the welcoming attitude to cyclists.
Have a great time, I am more than a little bit envious!

Don't worry folks, I'll stick around and cycle in scotland ;)

51 miles tonight after work, run a bath, get in, phone goes, brothers broken his wrist and needs a lift back from the hospital. No rest for the wicked

Is this another CC Ecosse ride that hasn't been publicised then?
I see nothing in the Cycle Chat and Recreational Rides board.
Same as the recent Arran trip ;)..

There is a space in the hostel now as I'm still not recovered from my accident, just in case you were free!
Sorry to hear you're not sufficiently recovered for this ride, Ross-not-Harry. Unfortunately I am due at work this weekend so I won't be able to take you up on your kind offer :okay:. Oh aye; and another good reason for not going is that I would get the blame for the weather breaking just in time for this. I see the wet stuff falling as I type :rain:.

Arran wasn't a cc ride, it was me going amd inviting people I know. With the target of be on the 1640 ferry or be left as next one was at 720pm so cc rules couldn't be followed
