Day 1 - 66
Day 2 - 53
Day 3 - 45
Want me to do the maths for you too?
Total miles - 164.

If you want 125 miles, something like Gourock to Dunbar might be better. More choices for route planning but it's not going to be as scenic. You planning on doing it in 1 day then?

I did Gourock to Leith many years ago.
How about something involving Kyle of Lochalsh, Mallaig, or Oban? Very scenic.
I still have the idea in my head for an Oban to Dundee / Arbroath ride.

If you weren't such a scaredy-cat when it comes to multi-day trips, Applecross to Aberdeen >:}

In other news, absolutely gutted about how much the LBS priced for replacing the double chainset on the Kaff to a touring triple.
By the time I hit the road, it would have worked out far cheaper if I'd bought a brand new touring bike.

Not scared of multi day touring, just not onto carrying bags of kit about whilst on the bike. Takes away the fun part of it.

A one day ride would be preferred, just fancying doing different rides this year to Mix it up. Having done 10k miles mostly around stirling , clacks and west fife I need variety

Train journeys eat into your riding time. Book into a hostel or a hotel up north, drive up the night before, do a big loop, drive back. I'll even half in for the petrol if there is space for a Focus :okay::bravo:

Bivi bag then. Failing that a survival bag.
Proper accommodation that. I'd be tempted to bivvy on my upcoming trip but I'm too much of a softy. Tent it is, with the possibility of buying a hammock if I go a bit loopy after a few weeks.

Oh , a place that looks like prisoner cell block H. Sign me up at once.......
Negative Nancy needs no novelty. Shouldn't there be a hashtag and a selfie in your post?
Fine then. I'll stay in the very pleasant hostel overlooking the Loch, you can spend fifteen times as much and stay in the hotel. I'll still beat you up the Bealach ;)

Next you are going to tell me you don't like camping.
Camping?? Louch?!
